If you or anyone sees a crash in AIM and gets a crash dialog, I encourage you to enter your email address in the crash dialog so that it can easily be found in AOL’s internal crash system. Just drop me a note and I can take a look.

I tried downloading 6.9 but it keeps crashing on me after about 5 minutes. I’m using Windows Vista. Anyone else have this problem?
I ended up downloading the new beta version, which doesn’t crash, but I’d still prefer the normal version.

Hi Rob,

I’m using Windows Vista and I just tried to download and install the new 6.9 version of AIM, but the program won’t start! It looks like it installed correctly, but whenever I try to start the program, nothing happens. I’ve tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and restarting but nothing seems to fix it. It also seems like a not uncommon problem for other vista users.

Hi Rob,

Adding more install location options would be a nice thing to offer. Can you tell me where and why you need to install this on another drive or folder?

I downloaded 6.9…. but I can’t seem to install it to any other drives other than my C drive. it doesnt even give me the option to where I want it installed to.

I’m still kind of confused why AIM won’t automatically resize/crop a photo for use as a buddy icon. Are there any intentions to include this in a future build?

How about allowing larger icons/photos too?
