One thing I miss about the 5.x version of AIM is the option for the "first IM received" sound using the ring.wav file included with the installation. AIM6 still installs this file but there is no way to set it for the first IM received. It only sounds the regular imrcv.wav sound for first IM and followup IMs but I would like the first "ringin" IM to play the ring.wav sound and followup IMs use the imrcv.wav sound. Is something like this possible as a plugin?

Jake, On AIM 6.5 you can hide the buddy list by closing it if you turn off the preference in the "sign in/ sign out" tab to sign you out when you close your buddy list. You can then double click the tray icon to open the buddy list.

Is there a way to transfer away messages between linked accounts? I just started a new account and linked it to my old one, and I have a lot of away messages on the old account, and I would like to be able to use them with the new account, hopefully without needing to retype each one back in.

@Mike:

I have found a way to change the buddylist color on the black skin.
Go to: C:\Program Files\AIM6\services\imApp\ver6_1_41_2\theme\black

Within this location you should see only two folders/files:
images and brushes

with notepad, open up the brushes file.
go to edit > find > and then find the phrase "brush.bl.background"
in that line of code you will see that and then next to it, it should be something like "fill="#ffffff" />" all you need now is a hex number (color) and then save that file. Relaunch AIM 6 and apply the skin and the buddy list background should be the color you chose.

I myself used the same color as the buddy list headers. That hex number is: #eaeaea and it looks better than white.

Is there a way to disable the adverts on the new AIM 6.1.xx.x? I refer in particular to the adverts that pop up as soon as your mouse goes over them.

How about forgeting about the linked screen names and acutally having a clone plug in for aim 6.1 =] and if not possible than at least make the 2 screen names in the linked screen name seperate instead of having it together =]

What about a way to turn the actual buddy list part black (the area where SNs are displayed) to match the smooth new black skin... right now it's defaulted to white, fading into yellowish at the top. It just doesn't seem to jive with the new skin, and making the whole entire buddy list black would really take the new AIM to a new level (visually).

Also would be nice to make the buddy list and other windows transparent...I've tried with my NVIDIA graphics controller, but it disables when AIM starts because of some DirectX/3D rendering conflict.

Maybe making a toggle switch in the plugin's Settings would be good. For example, if I wanted to turn off the invisibility feature but keep the AIM today and Autoresponse.

It's minor, but would be nice. Thanks, keep up the good work.
