Last Seen Screen Caps

Here are some screen shots of the new “Last Seen” feature in Gus Verdun’s RX-Plugin which is now available for download. See my previous post and the release notes for more information.

You can get the “Last Seen” information in an existing IM conversation with a buddy by sending “/ls” or “/lastseen” in an IM message as shown here (the message does not get sent to your buddy):

The information can also be shown in a live window (i.e. It gets updated automatically as the data changes.):

Here is how to show the “Last Seen” window for the buddy in an IM conversation:

You can also open it by right-clicking on a buddy as shown here:

Enjoy. As always, I am open to suggestions on how I can improve this or any other feature in this plug-in. Feel free to leave me a comment or e-mail me your ideas. Thanks.

Help! How do you turn smileys off completely in 6.0?

  2. Gus Says:

Good question. The only option so far is to disable the smiley showers. You can find that option by typing in “showers” in the top right search box of the Settings window (Press F7 to open it from AIM 6.0.)

Unfortunately, there is no option to turn off the graphical smilies when you type some character sequence that represents an emoticon.

I have some RX-Plugin rules that hide some of the characters used to show graphical smilies, but some of the character sequences get munged by AIM. For example, if you type :) it sends :-). Let me know if you are interested in trying it out.

How’d you get those icons appear next to the screen names on your buddy list?

  4. Gus Says:

You may need to enable the display of these icons. From AIM, Press F7 to open the Settings window, then select the “Buddy List” tab on the left and check the “Show Buddy Icons in Buddy List” option in the main page.

Note that these “mini-icons” are only set by the expressions chooser when you select any of the AOL official icons. This will not apply to custom icons.
