This one is an old Explorer 8000, the newer Explorer 8300 seems a little better even without HD. I was sold on Cox's DVR service simply because it offered the box with access to *all* channels and a dual tuner--all for just $10/month more than a plain cable box and nothing else to buy. I will swap this one for the latest DVR as soon as I am all caught up with my recorded shows. :) Lets see if the Cox deal with Tivo will improve things next year. Agreed.
